The St. Leon Armenian Church of Fair Lawn,
NJ will hold its annual
Gourmet Food Festival on October 12, 13 & 14, 2012. The Food
Festival is a widely anticipated event for both tri-state
Armenians and for the local community surrounding the church.
Planned for months in advance, the Gourmet Food Festival lives
up to its name in selling the most popular delicacies in the
Armenian cuisine, painstakingly prepared by the women of the
church. These will include such main course items as shish
kebab, chicken kebab, luleh kebab, and kufte; authentic
appetizers such as cheese boereg, yalanchi, and eech; and mouth
watering desserts such as pakhlava, khadayif and bourma.
Meals can be ordered to go from the expanded take-out area and a
wide range of items will be packaged as freezer-ready to allow
for a taste of the festival long after it is over. To entertain
the children, there will be games and crafts on the stage. Of
further interest, there will be a 50/50 raffle with the drawing
to take place on Saturday, October 13, and a performance by
Armenian folk dance ensemble, the Antranig Dance Group, on
Saturday at 8 pm. A Calendar raffle will also be featured, with
prizes for the lucky winner. The Country store features Armenian
packaged goods, small gifts as well as books and CD’s.
St. Leon Armenian Church is located at 12-61 Saddle River Road
in Fair Lawn, NJ. The hours of the Gourmet Food Festival will be
on Friday, October 12, from 5 to 9 pm; on Saturday, October 13,
from 1 to 9 pm; and on Sunday, October 14, from 12 to 4 pm.

We Believe in one God, the Father almighty,
the maker of heaven and earth, of things visible and
invisible. And in one Lord, Jesus Christ, the Son of
God, begotten of God the Father, only begotten, that is
of the same substance of the Father. God of God, light
of light, true God of true God, begotten and not made,
of the self-same nature ofthe Father, by whom all things
came into being in heaven and on earth, visible and
invisible; who for us human beings, and for our
salvation came down from heaven and was incarnate, was
made man, was born perfectly of the holy virgin Mary by
the Holy Spirit; by whom He took body, soul, and mind
and everything that is in man, truly and not in
semblance. He suffered, was crucified and was buried and
rose again on the third day and ascended into heaven
with the same body and sat at the right hand of the
Father. He is to come with the same body and with the
glory of the Father to judge the living and the dead; of
whose kingdom there is no end.
We Believe also in the Holy Spirit, the
uncreate and perfect, who spoke in the Law and in the
prophets and in the Gospels; who came down upon the
Jordan, preached in the apostles and dwelt in the
saints.
We Believe also only one universal and
apostolic holy Church; in one baptism with repentance
for the remission and forgiveness of sins; in the
resurrection of the dead, in the everlasting judgment of
souls and bodies, in the kingdom of heaven and in the
eternal life.
